At Southbank Original Barbecue, we’re proud to be Yorkville’s local barbecue restaurant and riverside bar, serving real, slow-smoked barbecue and southern comfort food made from scratch. Family-owned and operated, we’ve built Southbank into the kind of place where everyone feels like family. 

 Our pitmasters smoke everything low and slow over oak and hickory, from pulled pork, wings, and Belly Burnt Ends to our smoked meatloaf, all seasoned with care and served with our house-made sauces. You’ll also find crowd favorites like the SOB Mac, Stuffed Pig, and SOB Burgers, made fresh and packed with flavor. Pair it all with an ice-cold drink from our full bar. 

 When the weather’s warm, our outdoor bar and stage sit right on the banks of the Fox River, the perfect place to catch live music and events throughout the season. When it’s time to move indoors, our bar keeps the same relaxed, welcoming vibe with one-of-a-kind décor that makes it a Yorkville favorite. 

We host live music, bingo, trivia, paint-and-sip nights, vendor fairs, scavenger hunts, bar crawls, and more community favorites all year long, including our annual SOB 5K and St. Patrick’s Celebration, a Yorkville tradition that kicks off the outdoor season every spring. 

 As of November, we’re excited to welcome new partners helping us grow while keeping the same family-run, community-first spirit that’s made Southbank Original Barbecue what it is today.
